What is Access?

Imagine an environment where you are encouraged to discover your God-given dream.  Imagine a community of people who connect and pursue authentic, life-giving relationships.  Imagine a movement of people who long to make a difference in this world, bringing healing, restoration, and hope to others.  When Jesus Christ called men and women to follow him, he didn’t instruct them to build chapels, sit in pews, or dress in Sunday garb.  He called them to new life. He sent them out to bring hope and healing to the world. This was church. This is our spiritual heritage at Access.

We will engage the diversity of Houston’s population with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, calling people to life in the Spirit, and unleashing them to transform the world.We hope to accomplish this by creating a fresh expression of church for our changing world — a spiritual community for people who don’t fit well within traditional religious environments, who have a hard time finding God in pat answers, and desire to bring God’s grace and goodness to the broken.  If words like “non-traditional,” “innovative,” “postmodern,” “diverse,” “global,” and “compassion” sound interesting to you, then Access might be the environment that will help you connect with Jesus.  At this time, Access is in it’s underground phase.  We don’t have most of the services and ministries of a traditional church. We have simple gatherings and we’re preparing for a public launch on October 12th.  If you’ve found this site, most likely that means you were referred by a friend.  We invite you to visit our Sunday gathering at 10AM and experience our growing community.
